Competiton: Win Dinner for Two

The lovely people of Gallagher's Boxty House in Temple Bar (a review of which you can read over at the Daily Spud) have created a series of short videos showing you how to prepare some simple Irish dishes. My favourite, below, is how to make Irish Coffee.

To mark this, they would like to give you a dinner for two, including a bottle of house wine. To enter the competition, all you have to do is leave a comment before 10pm* on Tuesday 3rd August and a winner will be picked at random.

*10pm as per the time stamp on the comment.

UPDATE (04/08/10): Congratulations to our randomly chosen winner; Marcel! We hope you enjoy your meal out at Gallagher's.

I'm afraid that the competition is not open to family, relations and webmasters. You fall into at least one of those categories.

While we're dotting Is and crossing Ts, I'm going to be taking commenting here as consenting to receiving an email telling you that you've won, if you're the person picked from the hat. I imagine that was obvious but since we generally have a very strict policy on not doing anything with your email addresses, it's worth pointing out I suppose.

Always on for a decent dinner for two - Staff are excellent - didpatched 2 visiting Americans by taxi to Gallaghers the other night - they came home full of praise for the lovely young man who had looked after them - is he included in the deal!!!

Would love a free meal in Boxty - have brought a lot of foreign visitors to Boxty house in the past and the food is something they have never experienced - absolutely tasty!

It's half one on the first day of the week, which isn't even a Monday, and I'd murder an Irish coffee. Twice.

Then again, I'd love a bite to eat in Gallaghers too...

Passed it a gazillion times but I've yet to step inside this restaurant. The review photos look tasty though

Would love an opportunity to get to know Gallagher's. Have thought of bringing visitors there, but wasn't sure if it would suit. Now's my chance to find out!

Great meal at Gallagher's some years ago with two marketing teams from both sides of the pond at a US-Irish firm. Enjoyed the craic mightily. Recommended.

What a great idea, I have never been but have heard great reports about Gallagher's and I have just read their menus and what great value! Lunchtime stew special for €5 or Beef & Guinness Sausages with champ, again for €5!

Hope I get the chance to sample them by winning the competition!
